Where did you hear about us?: I was in the game when it first started, but ended up leaving out of schedule conflicts.
****IMPORTANT NOTE:
[IC Application - Please answer these questions as if they were being asked directly to your character!]
What's your name?: Anita Wellesley
Male or female?: Uh, female. Pretty obvious, I thought.
How old are you?: 21
Are you known by any other name?: Nope.
Were you born in the United States? Where? If not, please specify.: Yep; I'm a natural citizen, born and raised in Jackson, Tennessee, before my family moved down to New Orleans when I was 12.
Where are you now?: New York. I just got here, and it was . . . not pleasant to get into the city. At all. I just recently found an area that someone marked as being safe, though, so . . . maybe I can figure out where to go. I don't know whether or not to trust graffiti, though.
How did you get to/will you be getting to the Compound?: I haven't, and I don't . . . really know how to. I don't know where I'm going.
Where were you two years ago?: About to head back to Jackson, Tennessee; I was getting ready to start at Union University. I took about a year off, before deciding to finally try for college. I was going to be a business major.
What were you up to before the quarantine?: Before the Quarantine, I was at home, taking care of my little brother. I mean, I had a pretty normal childhood, except for the move to New Orleans. That's where Chase was actually born, when I was thirteen. My parents were good people; Mom taught fourth grade, and my dad worked for an advertising company. He got transferred to a new office in New Orleans, and we moved down there. I finished up my public schooling there, and took a year off to try and get my head together. I didn't really know what I wanted to do, or what I could do. I wasn't the best student, and so I wasn't doing too great on the scholarship front. I didn't even really know what I wanted to major in. It just kind of . . . happened that I picked business. I only really picked it because it was something that I could get a variety of jobs with.
What have you been doing since then?: I'm not stupid; I knew pretty much right off the bat that I needed to get somewhere safer than the Cresent City. City or not, there's way too much open space and not enough cover to hide. So I packed up as much as I could carry, and just kind of hit the road. I got as far as West Virginia in the car before I couldn't find any more gas to use, or another car with keys nearby, and couldn't avoid things any longer. After the car got kind of useless, I packed some stuff into a backpack and started walking. On the outskirts of Clintonville, West Virginia, I actually ran into a group of people. They were heading north, on some info they'd gotten about survivors. I didn't really want to keep going it alone, and I really didn't want to just wander around, so . . . I joined them. The group actually worked out a lot better than I thought it would. I mean, scouting kind of sucked when I got sent on them, but, at least I was part of something, you know? I miss having that; I really do. I'll be glad to get to some form of civilization, or at least to be around people again. Anything.
What do you miss most about life before the quarantine?: A lot of things, but, doesn't everyone miss a lot about life before? Really, though, the thing I miss the most is probably the most cliched ever - my family. I really do miss my parents, and my little brother. I wasn't home when things hit, and I just . . . don't know. I don't know what happened. I know Mom and Dad are- are gone. I don't know about Chase. I guess . . . I guess he's gone, too.
What don't you miss?: Country music. I've heard so much of that crap through my life that if I never hear it again, I'll be good.
Describe your build.: Does "little" count as a significant description? I've always been pretty little, both frame-wise and height. It's actually kind of helped, ever since the Quarantine, because I can kind of get into places a lot of people couldn't fit into. I'm 5' 3", barefoot - not that I really go barefoot anymore, but that's besides the point - and I really haven't grown much since about sixth grade. I'm not stick-skinny, but I like to think I've got a nice, svelte shape. I happen to really like that word, by the way - svelte.
Describe your hair.: Dark brown - almost black, and hangs to about the middle of my back. It's generally pretty straight, nowadays, because I don't have the time or stuff to really work on any sort of curl.
Describe your eyes.: Dark brown; I guess you could say chocolate? I'm not good with shade names.
Describe your personal style of clothing.: Style? Are you seriously asking about that? I don't think what I have even COUNTS as a personal style anymore, since I don't exactly have a lot of clothes. I just have the sweatpants and sweater I was wearing at the time, my coat, and what I could shove in my backpack, which is pretty much just a couple pairs of jeans, underwear, and a couple of shirts - one long-sleeved, a tank, and a couple of tees. So, yeah, not exactly a real "style" to it.
Describe any tattoos, piercings or identifiable marks.: I have my ears pierced once, and a tattoo on the top of my left foot, close to the left side - "Imagine".
Do you have any physical handicaps?: I'm a little near-sighted, but, not too bad. I just have to squint a little.
Do you speak languages other than your native tongue?: A very little bit of French, and about a year's study-worth of Spanish from high school.
Are you alone? If so, why?: The group I was in got me pretty far, but . . . I wasn't alone with my thoughts, or memories, and safety in numbers, right? Unfortunately we got to Pennsylvania and there was a disagreement. Most of the group wanted to go with this guy; he was kind of the designated 'leader', I guess. He got the bright idea that since there were woods, it would be more cover. It'd be safer than travelling the road. I . . . didn't exactly buy into it. So I stuck with the road, and they went to the woods. I haven't seen or heard from anyone since, so I don't even know if they made it. I hope so.
Do you have a talent/skill that will be helpful to the survival of a group?: I took a couple dance classes when I was younger, and it's helped me build up stamina, for one thing. Particularly for running, or things like that. It's also helped me with trying to be 'stealthy', I guess. I was always the one that ended up being sent out for any scouting jobs or things that required being fast, so, I guess that's a talent? Or a skill. I'm not sure which.
What are you doing to pull your weight at the Compound [or with any group you're living with]?: Probably the same way I did with the group I traveled with: scouting. I'm fast, I've done it before. I'll do whatever's needed from me.
Who do you see yourself affiliating with?: I don't know . . . Though, the idea of military rule doesn't exactly appeal.
What is your weapon of choice? Does it have a name?: Generally, if it's at all possible, I tend to run rather than fight. I don't have a lot of upper body strength, and I do NOT know how to use a gun or anything like that. I did get kinda handy with a lead pipe on the road, though, if I have to . . . And no, I didn't name it. That's just weird.
Have you had any notary zombie encounters?: West Virginia, actually. The day I met the group. I kind of . . . broke the pipe I was using as a weapon. Like, it literally broke off IN the zombie's head. It was really, really, really disgusting.
